In my opinion electric cars are the future. Although electric cars are a bit expensive, they have a lot of pros that come with it. One major pro is that there is no more gas use. Every electric car runs on batteries which are better for the environment. Also, some electric cars come with charging stations that you can hook up in your home. Another pro is that it is quit and quick. It only takes one ride in a battery-powered car to understand the improved ride quality of an EV compared to a vehicle using a petroleum-powered internal combustion engine. An electric car is very quiet and very smooth. It makes most regular cars seem clunky and outdated. If there is pros there must be cons. One of them is limited range. It stands for the worry that occurs because most affordable electric cars only have about 80 to 100 miles of range, and take hours to fully refuel. As a result, nearly all electric car drivers rarely if ever experience range anxiety. It’s also true that the range and cost of electric car batteries is incrementally improving every year. Another con is that there are fewer options to choose from. New electric vehicles are being introduced on a weekly basis, but it will take years before customers will be able to choose from the same range of models as they can now when it comes to cars with internal combustion engines.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Habit 1: Be Proactive
"Habit 1 is the key to unlocking all the other habits and that's why it comes first. It says, "I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I'm responsible for my own happiness or unhappiness. I am in the driver's seat of my destiny, not just a passenger."
Be Proactive is about taking responsibility for your life. You can't keep blaming everything on your parents or grandparents. Proactive people recognize that they are "response-able." They don't blame genetics, circumstances, conditions, or conditioning for their behavior. They know they choose their behavior. Reactive people, on the other hand, are often affected by their physical environment. They find external sources to blame for their behavior. Reactive people, on the other hand, are often affected by their physical environment. They find external sources to blame for their behavior. If the weather is good, they feel good. If it isn't, it affects their attitude and performance, and they blame the weather. All of these external forces act as stimuli that we respond to. Between the stimulus and the response is your greatest power--you have the freedom to choose your response. One of the most important things you choose is what you say.

Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
"Control your own destiny or someone else will." (Jack Welch)
what do you want to be when you grow up? That question may appear a little trite, but think about it for a moment. Are you--right now--who you want to be, what you dreamed you'd be, doing what you always wanted to do? Be honest. Sometimes people find themselves achieving victories that are empty--successes that have come at the expense of things that were far more valuable to them. If your ladder is not leaning against the right wall, every step you take gets you to the wrong place faster. Habit 2 is based on imagination--the ability to envision in your mind what you cannot at present see with your eyes. It is based on the principle that all things are created twice. There is a mental (first) creation, and a physical (second) creation.

Habit 3: Put First Things First
"Organize and execute around priorities."
Habit 1 says, "You're in charge. You're the creator." Being proactive is about choice. Habit 2 is the first, or mental, creation. Beginning with the End in Mind is about vision. Habit 3 is the second creation, the physical creation. This habit is where Habits 1 and 2 come together. It happens day in and day out, moment-by-moment. It deals with many of the questions addressed in the field of time management. But that's not all it's about. Habit 3 is about life management as well--your purpose, values, roles, and priorities. To live a more balanced existence, you have to recognize that not doing everything that comes along is okay. There's no need to overextend yourself. All it takes is realizing that it's all right to say no when necessary and then focus on your highest priorities.

Habit 4: Think Win-Win

"Think win-win or no deal."
Most of us learn to base our self-worth on comparisons and competition. We think about succeeding in terms of someone else failing--that is, if I win, you lose; or if you win, I lose. Life becomes a zero-sum game. There is only so much pie to go around, and if you get a big piece, there is less for me; it's not fair, and I'm going to make sure you don't get anymore. We all play the game, but how much fun is it really? Win-win sees life as a cooperative arena, not a competitive one. Win-win is a frame of mind and heart that constantly seeks mutual benefit in all human interactions. Win-win means agreements or solutions are mutually beneficial and satisfying. We both get to eat the pie, and it tastes pretty darn good! Many people think in terms of either/or: either you're nice or you're tough. Win-win requires that you be both. It is a balancing act between courage and consideration. To go for win-win, you not only have to be empathetic, but you also have to be confident. You not only have to be considerate and sensitive, you also have to be brave. To do that--to achieve that balance between courage and consideration--is the essence of real maturity and is fundamental to win-win.

Habit 5: Seek First To Understand, Then to be Understood

"Diagnose before you prescribe."
how to read and write, and years learning how to speak. But what about listening? What training have you had that enables you to listen so you really, deeply understand another human being? Probably none, right?
If you're like most people, you probably seek first to be understood; you want to get your point across. And in doing so, you may ignore the other person completely, pretend that you're listening, selectively hear only certain parts of the conversation or attentively focus on only the words being said, but miss the meaning entirely. So why does this happen? Because most people listen with the intent to reply, not to understand. You listen to yourself as you prepare in your mind what you are going to say, the questions you are going to ask, etc.

Habit 6:  Synergize

"The whole is greater than the sum of its parts (1+1=3)"
To put it simply, synergy means "two heads are better than one." Synergize is the habit of creative cooperation. It is teamwork, open-mindedness, and the adventure of finding new solutions to old problems. But it doesn't just happen on its own. It's a process, and through that process, people bring all their personal experience and expertise to the table. Together, they can produce far better results that they could individually. Synergy lets us discover jointly things we are much less likely to discover by ourselves. It is the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

Habit 7:  Sharpen the Saw

Four Dimensions of Self-Renewal: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Social/Emotional

As you renew yourself in each of the four areas, you create growth and change in your life. Sharpen the Saw keeps you fresh so you can continue to practice the other six habits. You increase your capacity to produce and handle the challenges around you. Without this renewal, the body becomes weak, the mind mechanical, the emotions raw, the spirit insensitive, and the person selfish.
Feeling good doesn't just happen. Living a life in balance means taking the necessary time to renew yourself. It's all up to you. You can renew yourself through relaxation. Or you can totally burn yourself out by overdoing everything. You can pamper yourself mentally and spiritually. Or you can go through life oblivious to your well-being. You can experience vibrant energy. Or you can procrastinate and miss out on the benefits of good health and exercise. You can revitalize yourself and face a new day in peace and harmony. Or you can wake up in the morning full of apathy because your get-up-and-go has got-up-and-gone. Just remember that every day provides a new opportunity for renewal--a new opportunity to recharge yourself instead of hitting the wall. All it takes is the desire, knowledge, and skill.

Importance of Setting Goals

Importance of Setting Goals

The first thing a successful person needs is a goal. We all seek success but we all know that getting there is not easy. In order to achieve the success we spend our lives chasing, we first need to define our goals. Once that is done, it’s time to start thinking about how to accomplish them. Setting a goal is something you need to practice in order to get it right. It takes time to understand exactly how to set a clear goal that is possible to accomplish. Goal setting is a process that will help you motivate yourself, and the more detailed and precise the goal is, the better your brain will analyze the steps in order to achieve it. When making goals we have tendency to lie to ourselves, usually when we do something we don’t feel like doing, or are trying to find an excuse as to why we did not succeed.

FREELANCE POST
THE LOS ANGELES DODGERS
Related image
On Tuesday, the Dodgers welcome the Astros to Los Angeles for Game 1 of the World Series. I am very excited for this game because it is the first time The Dodgers will go to The World Series since 1988. This is history in the making and I will be alive to see it. Who know, this could be the last time The Dodgers will go, but I am just happy i get to experience it. Either the Dodgers will win their first ring since 1988, or the Astros will win their first. Who ever wins, they are still going to be good games. I really want The Dodgers to win but who knows the Astros can take it.

Six Rules to Make People Like You

Rule 1: Become genuinely interested in other people.
1) "Do this and you will be welcome anywhere."
2) "You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you."

3) "Ask questions to other people, questions that they would enjoy answering."
Focus on being interested not interesting. There is a big difference. Interesting is about you, interested is about them. When you become interested in people, ask questions and allow them to talk, they will love you for it.

Rule 2: Smile
1) "Actions speak louder than words, and a smile says, "I like you. You make me happy. I am glad to see you."
2) "You don't feel like smiling? Then force yourself to smile."

3) "It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a business, and is the countersign (witness or indication) of friends."
A smile is a simple gesture that doesn’t cost you money, time, or energy but it can brighten someone’s day, changes the way you feel and make you more approachable.Smiling is attractive and contagious. People around you can’t help but smile when they see a big smile on your face.

Rule 3: Remember names
1) "A man's name is to him the sweetest and most important sound in any language."

2) "If you don't remember names, you are headed for trouble."
We’ve all been there when you recognize the person but can’t remember their name. It’s awkward, uncomfortable and sometimes embarrassing. We often use the excuse that “I am not good with names,” but if you want to master people, you need to begin to remember names.Develop a system, when you meet someone use their name 3 times in conversation or write their name down in a notebook with some notes about them. Figure out what works for you.

Rule 4: Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.
" If you aspire to be a good conversationalist, be an attentive listener."

"Remember that the man you are talking to is a hundred times more interested in himself and his wants and his problems than he is in you and your problems.
I love the sage advice that we were given one mouth and two ears for a reason. We need to encourage others to talk and then listen to understand.
Listening is an active process. It is much more than being silent. It involves empathy, which is to walk in someone’s shoes and understanding, which is the ability to relate without judging or fixing.Listening is a skill that is developed with practice and as you master it, people will like you more and more.

Rule 5: Talk in terms of the other man's interest.

"The royal road to a man's heart is to talk to him about the things he treasures most."
People love it when you can talk to them in terms of their interests. They love when you are knowledgeable on subjects they enjoy and can have intelligent conversation about what matters most to them.

That doesn’t mean that you have to be an expert in every category, but being able to talk to people in terms of their interests goes a long way. One way to do this is to study topics of interest before meeting with people. If you know that your business lunch is with a huge baseball fan, then take some time to brush up on your knowledge of the game. This small point may make the biggest difference in how the lunch turns out.

Rule 6: Make the other person feel important--and do it sincerely.

"The desire to be important is the deepest urge in human nature." (John Dewey)"Helping people feel important and appreciated works magic."
Making people feel important can be done in a myriad of ways. You can give a compliment, remember their birthday or a special occasion, recognize them for their skills and contribution or give them a gift.
The key is to make sure you do it sincerely. Your motives must be pure. This is not about giving to get, it is about giving because you care. People read through individuals who are fake and only in it for themselves. If you are going to compliment someone, make it sincere. Look at the good in people and point that out.
This project has showed me that you should leave every person better for having met you.

The Six Attitudes of High Achievers

Related imageHigh Achievers...

1.Make no small plans: Plan BIG
Make big plans; aim high in hope and work, remembering that a noble, logical diagram once recorded will never die, but long after we are gone will be a living thing, asserting itself with ever-growing insistency. When coming up with a idea, it is important to not think small but big. Big is always better. Just like the quote says, "You Think Big, You Get Big". This quote is very true because if you have a big plan, you expect the end product to be big. Never in your life think small. You should always think big.

2.Do what they fear
“You don’t conquer fear with clichés, but with action.”  Personally, I love this.  When I was stationary in one classroom, I always had the Latin phrase, acte non verbe on my wall; it quickly became class motto.  Noe states, “That fear is fraud and that only 8% of our fears are legitimate.” This means that you should have the courage to do what other people are scared of. You must be strong and confident to do what other people are scared of. They are probably scared of failing but you must fail to succeed.

3. Willing to prepare

Be willing to prepare because most likely the out come will be better if you prepared yourself for something. For example if I prepare myself for a quiz most likely I will get a higher grade if I did not study. Remember practice makes perfect so try to prepare as much as you can. Kobe Bryant probably practiced and prepared for hours just for a game so if he can do why cant you? The more time you set aside for something the most likely it'll give you a bigger reward. You just have to work hard and give it your best and eventually it'll pay off.

4.Willing to risk failure

Image result for eleanor rooseveltYou have to able to risk something and fail because if you never tried you won't be able to succeed either. Failure comes along the way with succeeding because you have to practice in order to get something. For example Kobe Bryant didn't become a living legend by not taking shots he shot and sometimes he missed, but with more and more practice he was able to sink those shots in. Nobody is perfect so you're going to have those days where your game is going to be down and all you can do is accept the fact and come back even stronger.  Failure will forever be part of everything no one who has become successful did it the easy way they went through trial and error. Don't be mistaken and think everything you will handed to you, you have to work hard and earn it. "Do one thing every day that scares you."

-  Eleanor Roosevelt

5.Are teachable

You have to be able to learn from other or on your own because if you don't you'll forever be ignorant and dumb. You have to be able to be open minded for anything even if it might be against what you believe. You have to be able to accept things that are facts because if you don't its just pure ignorance. Try to learn from those who are wise and have had experiences so maybe you don't make the same mistakes as them. Some lessons in life can save you a lot of time and can prevent you from running into problems it can be a big leap ahead of everyone.  If anyone is teaching you a lesson don't take it for granted because you never know when it might come in handy.

The 9 ways to be happy and make something of your life
Image result for gordon b hinckley
Gordon B. Hinckley

  1. Be Grateful
I believe it is important to be grateful because if you are grateful to others, others will do the same to you. being grateful can open doors to success in the future. Being grateful can help you succeed in life. Being grateful shows that you are a very kind and reliable person. If people see this in you, they might want you to stick around in their life because in the future they might need someone like you. You are very lucky that you have a home, have food on the table, and have loving parents that really care for you, so you should always be grateful for those things. There are people who have nothing and are living on the street asking for money. So you should be very lucky you have all these things. There are times where you parents can't afford name brand stuff but you should always thank them for at least buying you something. Being grateful is not all about the clothes you have on your back or the shoes you have on your feet it is also about being thankful that you woke up to see another day. there is quote that i like and that is, " When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to breathe to think. To enjoy. To love.'' -Marcus Aurelius. this quote a huge impact on my life because everyday i thank god that i am alive.

Image result for quotes about being smart and wise   2. Be Smart

It is important to be smart because you can have knowledge that you might use in the future. You may know things that are useful in a certain situation. There are things that you may know that other people may not. When there a bad situation you should be smart and handle the problem correctly. For example, if your friend tells you to smoke, you should be smart and say no. Being smart shows other people what kind of person you are. If you are smart, you can teach other people what you have learned. being smart helps you see things clearer than others. One who is smart can usually also continually grow to master multiple subjects. You can analyze the subject and build more skill. There is a quote by Albert Einstein that i really like, and that is , " A clever person solves a problem. A wise person avoids it. I really like this quote because it tells us that it is good to be smart but it also is good to be wise.

3. Be Involved
Image result for involvement

I believe it is important to be involved because it shows that you are a caring person and love to get involved and do what other people do.It shows that you love to work. It is good to be involved because when you are trying get into a college or university, it shows up on your application. Getting involved makes people look at you differently and will look for you when they need something. You will be the first person they call.

4. Be clean

Being clean does not mean having a clean body, it is about having a positive attitude and to think positively. You should not think of bad things like curse words. Being clean opens a lot of opportunities.

5. Be True

Image result for be trueIt is important to be true because if you are true it shows that you are a honest and care giving person. You should always be honest and trustworthy toward yourself and others. When you are being true to yourself, you are completely honest with what you feel, deeply value, and desire. It also means communicating your feelings wholeheartedly both with yourself and others, allowing your truth to flow through you and into the world. In general, "be yourself" means be true to your core identity rather than faking a different one because you think it will be attractive to others. But we can take it one step further and say that you should also try to the best "you" that you can be, being the ideal "yourself."

6. Be Positive

Image result for being positiveResearch is beginning to reveal that positive thinking is about much more than just being happy or displaying an upbeat attitude. ... The impact of positive thinking on your work, your health, and your life is being studied by people who are much smarter than me. The real obstacle to positivity is that our brains are hard-wired to look for and focus on threats. This survival mechanism served humankind well back when we were hunters and gatherers, living each day with the very real threat of being killed by someone or something in our immediate surroundings. Being positive shows that you are a good person. When there is a bad situation, you figure out how to deal with it and turn things around.

7. Be Humble

Image result for humbleA person or a place can be humble, but a person who brags about being humble, or not proud, may have too much pride in being "humble" to actually be humble. ... Truly humble people keep quiet about the good things they do and about their humble, or poor and simple, backgrounds. Humility is the quality of being humble and means putting the needs of another person before your own, and thinking of others before yourself. It also means not drawing attention to yourself, and it can mean acknowledging that you are not always right.having a feeling of insignificance, inferiority, subservience, etc.: In the presence of so many world-famous writers I felt very humble. 3. low in rank, importance, status, quality, etc.; lowly: of humble origin; a humble home

8. Be Still

Image result for be stillThe importance of being still is not just sitting there but to calm down and do things at your own pace. Take a break. Be still. Breathe. Stop constantly trying to do more, be more. Attempting to fill your schedule with things that you can put on your resume or that will make this life slightly more interesting. Constantly we are competing with the beings we were yesterday, trying to be better people today. We constantly forget the importance of being still. The importance of pressing pause from our hectic lives. In our urgency to get through our days we forget to take a step back, stop, and look around. We forget who we are, our goals, and our humanity. Perspective is lost and the main goal of life -- to be happy -- is so often abandoned. There are many things in this life to worry about and sometimes a break is necessary to take it all in. Trust me, nothing is more important than a moment to reflect and be alone with our thoughts.

9. Be Prayerful

These nine ways are things to make you happy and helps you make something of your life. These ways help you become a better person. This will make people like you more. Doing all these things will improve your attitude and life. These can bring up opportunities that may have not come if you had not done these.Being grateful shows that you are a very kind and reliable person. It is important to be smart because you can have knowledge that you might use in the future.I believe it is important to be involved because it shows that you are a caring person and love to get involved and do what other people do.Being clean does not mean having a clean body, it is about having a positive attitude and to think positively. It is important to be true because if you are true it shows that you are a honest and care giving person. The importance of being still is not just sitting there but to calm down and do things at your own pace.

Summer Activities

During my summer vacation I didn't really do much besides spend it with my family. The things we did were go to the beach, go to the movies, visit family that we have not seen in a long time, and go hiking. I really enjoyed going to the beach with my family because it is a chance for me to get away from reality. I can also tell that my family felt the same way too. Hiking was another great way for me to get away from the world. Going hiking is always fun because you get to see an amazing view and lose a couple pounds in the process. Another thing I did on my own time was be in my room either play video games or watch movies. To be quite honest this wasn't an interesting summer but it is one to remember.
